- Masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times, including in resident rooms.
- Visitors are required to stay 6 feet away from staff, other residents and other visitors.
- Clean your hands frequently while onsite.
- Stay home when you’re ill.
Before you visit, you must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result:

2. For COVID-19 test taken at an outside facility—You may show your dated negative test result on an electronic device or bring a paper copy.
3. After you have provided your first negative COVID-19 test result, you may request a Rapid COVID-19 home test kit at the Weinberg Campus reception desk to use prior to future visits. A limited supply is available.
4. Our staff will verify acceptable proof of your negative COVID-19 test before you will be allowed to visit.
- Visitors who fail to provide acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 test will not be allowed to visit until proof of an acceptable negative COVID-19 test is provided.
- If you have had COVID-19 within the past 90 days, and have completed your 5 day isolation period, you must still present a negative COVID-19 test result to enter the facility.
5. After providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, you will need to complete the screening process, and attest that you provided your negative COVID-19 test result to the facility.
We will continue to follow DOH and CMS guidance for any exemptions to requirements for COVID-19 testing prior to visitation.
Additional Visitor Guidelines
- Face masks (covering nose and mouth) are required to be worn whenever entering the facility and during indoor and outdoor visits with residents. Regardless of resident and visitor vaccination status, a mask must be worn by both resident and visitor(s) if the county COVID-19 level of transmission is substantial to high.
- Residents, regardless of their vaccination status, can choose to have close close physical contact (such as a hug) with visitor(s), despite the visitor’s vaccination status. The resident and visitor(s) must be alone in the resident room or designated visitation room, or outside on the facility grounds and must be socially distanced from others. The visitor(s) must wear a well-fitting face mask. The resident is encouraged to wear a well-fitting face mask but the resident, regardless of vaccination status, can choose not to wear a mask when other residents are not present. Hand-hygiene should be performed before and after physical contact.
- Please note residents and visitors who are not up to date on all COVID vaccinations that engage in physical contact increase the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
- All visitors must wear face coverings and physically distance when around other residents and healthcare personnel, regardless of their vaccination status.
- Visits must be conducted in the resident’s room or designated visitation room, or outside on the facility grounds.
- Individuals must maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from others during indoor and outdoor visits and when traveling to and from a resident’s room.
You are only allowed to travel to and from your loved one’s room and cannot travel anywhere else within the unit or the facility at any time.
Preparing For Your Visit
- You are required to present a negative COVID-19 test for visitation.
What To Expect When You Arrive
- Please use the entrance at 2700 N. Forest Rd.
- All visitors must present a negative COVID-19 test resut and will be screened for COVID-19. This will include a temperature check and you will be asked questions about potential exposure to the virus and recent travel. If you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days (regardless of your vaccination status), you will not be allowed to have your in-person visit.
- All visitors will be required to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times during your visit at the facility.
- Individuals must remain 6 feet apart throughout the visit.
Indoor Visits
In addition to following Visitor Guidelines, below are additional protocols for indoor visits:
- You may only travel to and from your loved one’s room. You are not permitted to travel anywhere else within the unit or the facility at any time.
- For residents living in a semi-private room, visitors may not enter the living space of the roommate or the shared bathroom.
- These infection control practices must be adhered to at all times. Visitors who are unable to follow these guidelines will not be permitted to visit and will be asked to leave.
- Any visitor who enters the facility and at any time receives a positive COVID-19 test result is required to notify the facility as soon as possible.
- Per DOH guidelines, when a new case of COVID-19 is identified among residents and staff, as required, the facility will follow current DOH guidelines.
- Thank you for following these infection control practices to ensure everyone’s safety. Our team continues to practice diligent infection prevention measures. Please let us know if you have questions.
Outdoor Visits
In addition to following Visitor Guidelines, below are additional protocols for outdoor visits:
Per DOH guidelines, family members may take a resident outside, weather permitting, whether the resident is vaccinated or unvaccinated.
- Visitors must go directly to their loved one’s room to escort their loved one outside for the visit. Visitors may not travel within the facility. Visits can take place only in the resident’s room or outside and cannot be conducted in common spaces.
- If you’d like to have your visit outdoors, please inform the nurse on your loved one’s unit.
- The nurse will provide a face mask to the resident.
- Masks must be worn by both resident and visitor(s) during transport through the facility and during the visit if the county COVID-19 level of transmission is substantial to high.
- There can only be one resident in the elevator at a time.
- Everyone must stay socially distant from others at all times throughout the visit – while traveling through the facility and while outside on facility grounds.
- Visitors must escort their loved one outside, and back to their room at the end of their visit.

Safety Measures
- We continue to follow DOH guidelines for resident testing of COVID-19. All residents are screened for fevers every 8 hours and monitored for signs and symptoms for COVID-19 on every shift.
- Staff continue to follow strong infection control practices. To ensure everyone’s safety, we continue to follow the DOH requirements in utilizing personal protective equipment such as face masks, eye protection, gowns, and gloves as required. Staff training on best practices is ongoing.
- We continue to follow DOH guidelines for employee COVID testing. The DOH determines testing frequency based on the transmission rates of COVID-19 within Erie County. All employees are screened daily. This includes taking their temperature and asking screening questions. If employees are ill they are required to stay home.
- Science-based, comprehensive disinfection practices include a pulsed UV disinfection system proven to eliminate pathogens such as coronavirus from surfaces in seconds. This cutting-edge technology is used in many hospitals.
- We also practice a 7-step disinfection process that follows CDC infection control guidance using hospital-grade disinfectants.
- In addition to these practices, we use a Storm 2 Pro Dual Pressure sprayer to sanitize and disinfect. The pressure sprayer can penetrate difficult areas beyond surface cleaning.
- The DOH has conducted infection control surveys reviewing our COVID-19 protocols and procedures and we received ZERO deficiencies.
- Rosa Coplon Living Center is taking every step recommended by the DOH to protect residents and employees. We monitor updated guidance and immediately implement new protocols to meet the DOH requirements.
