A TRADITION OF CARING FOR MORE THAN 100 YEARS
Founded in 1915 as The Daughters of Israel Jewish Old Folks Home to meet a growing need for the care of Buffalo’s Jewish elderly, the name was changed to Rosa Coplon Jewish Home and Infirmary in 1924 when it moved to a city mansion donated by the three Coplon brothers—David, Joseph, and Philip—in memory of their mother, Rosa.
In 1975 the Home expanded to a 166-bed skilled healthcare facility. Care for people with Alzheimer’s disease was added in 1983 after receiving a New York State Department of Health grant.
A decade later in 1993, Rosa Coplon Jewish Home and Infirmary moved to its current 70-acre suburban location in Getzville, New York, as part of the new Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Campus. The innovative Campus was one of five national recipients for outstanding architecture design for the elderly and became a national and international model.
Expansion continued with the opening of Garden House Apartments in 1998 featuring a one-of-a kind program and architectural design specifically for people with progressive frailty.
With the safety of residents and vulnerable seniors in the community in mind, Weinberg continued to invest in the facility over the years, adding a $550,000 emergency generator in 2003, making the Campus a safe refuge for the people it serves and one of two emergency shelters for the town of Amherst and its 120,000 citizens.
In the same year, the first Medicaid managed “Total Aging In Place Program” was established, now called Fallon Health-Weinberg.
Today, Weinberg Campus continues its legacy of offering a wide range of health and housing options to people with a variety of income levels and backgrounds.

Rosa Coplon Living Center receives top-tier nursing home designation by New York State’s Nursing Home Qualitly Initiative.
Rosa Coplon Living Center is rated 4 out of 5 stars for quality by CMS.
2016
Rosa Coplon Living Center earns four out of five stars on its Quality rating from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services.
Weinberg Campus was awarded “Best Dish” at the Taste of the Network Competition, a cook-off of local senior care providers.
2015
Forever Young Magazine’s winner of “Favorite Senior Community Campus.”
2008
Rosa Coplon Living Center was awarded a five-star rating by the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
2006
Buffalo Business First awards Weinberg Campus the Buffalo/Niagara Business Leadership Award. Weinberg Campus was the only healthcare organization recognized.
2003
Earned the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Western New York Chapter, Building of the Year Award for the Total Aging in Place complex.
1994
Weinberg Campus received the American Association of Homes for the Aging National Design for Aging Award for Architecture.
Weinberg Campus was the first nursing home to receive the Peter F. Drucker award for non-profit innovation for its Cluster Management Program.
